Anatomy Of A Song:  Best Music Feature 2016 NZ Radio Awards

We were all pretty darn stoked with this result for all our efforts in creating Anatomy of a Song.

Happy days and awesome timing all round really. The awards ceremony was in May, just before wrapping up my time in Christchurch before heading north, and RDU was celebrating their 40th birthday. Big hugs to Spanky, Rachel and James.  We pulled it off :)

Here's a cool example of an episode form the series:

Anatomy Of A Song – Season 2 On Air

87ab3cfbad617386-AOAS.jpg

Last year I worked with RDU to produce the first series of this unique radio adventure, which played on RDU and also Radio New Zealand National during Music 101 on Saturday arvo.  They liked it so much that they wanted more, so here we go again this year with series 2!

As I write this we are half way through the broadcast schedule, so you can already check out the first 6 episodes at this link... HERE, and as time goes on they will all be uploaded.
Series 1 is also HERE if you want to check that out.

The episodes give you a glimpse into the recording and creative processes that go into the songs - and a pretty unique chance to hear the songs de constructed before your very ears.  We've had some great feedback from listeners and the bands themselves.

The list of artists we've had on board includes The Phoenix Foundation, Ladi 6, Opiou, Beastwars, Lawrence Arabia, Marlon Williams, Delaney Davidson, Trinity Roots, Tiny Ruins and many more.

Enjoy! ...and big uppity ups to my partners in this crime, Rachel Morton and Spanky Moore XXX
